A Great Story Of Improved Safety Process

There’s a company on site that had an incident. They went to their form, hit incident report, filled out the report, completed it- I believe it was a cut finger.  Instead of walking away and going to find more binders and information to provide to the workers after completing the report, they simply went to the “Resources” in SiteDocs Safety Management Software, went to the Safe Operating Procedures/Safe Work Practices, opened up the document they needed, read through it and had the entire crew sign off on that. Then, when they completed that, they went back to their forms, and they did a job hazard analysis, going through the tasks for where the worker was hurt. Keep in mind this is all on one mobile device instantaneously, and all that information is being fed, real-time, to the safety coordinator at the office, who is monitoring. So they see time-stamped and date, showing there was an incident, then there was a report done, then they followed the procedure and read through it, and then they did a job hazard analysis. That is the cycle that we’re trying to provide. How do you do that within a paper-based system- we don’t know.
